De Baets AIT Racing wrapped up the final round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Circuit De Kappenbulten in Halle with strong performances from Dex Kooiker and Torre van Mechgelen. Both Yamaha riders demonstrated the pace to compete at the front of the field, although misfortune prevented an even stronger overall result.

Dex Kooiker made an excellent start to the race day and immediately joined the battle for victory in the opening moto. The Dutch rider delivered an outstanding performance, fighting for the win all the way to the checkered flag. In the end, he secured an impressive second-place finish.

In the second moto, another top result appeared to be within reach, but an early crash brought his race to a premature end. As a result, he missed out on a strong overall finish despite clearly having the pace to achieve much more.

Torre van Mechgelen also experienced a weekend of highs and lows. The Belgian rider got off to a strong start by setting the fifth-fastest time in qualifying, proving he had the speed to challenge at the front.

However, in the opening moto, Van Mechgelen was involved in a crash that forced him to fight his way back through the field. With a determined charge in the closing stages, he recovered to finish fourteenth.

The second moto went considerably better. Van Mechgelen delivered a strong and consistent ride, worked his way up to eighth place, and pushed until the very end to collect as many championship points as possible.

In the final championship standings, Van Mechgelen finished fourth overall, missing out on the championship podium by just a single point.
